They’re young and have chosen to make cooking their profession either by way of a formal education or an apprenticeship.
Femina asked them to prepare their best summer recipe. The fourth candidate to come up against our jury is Mariia Terekhina.
It takes only a glance to know that this young lady is happy to have chosen cooking as her profession. Originally from Tyumen in Russia, Mariia joined the Culinary Arts Academy in the Bouveret, Valais after having studied art for two years. "For me cooking is more an art than a science, especially when it comes to the presentation of the dish itself" says the enthusiastic 22 year old who makes no qualms about her lifelong passion for gastronomy.
Mariia has fond childhood memories of peeling vegetables and stirring simmering sauces in the family kitchen, and realizes that she began her cooking apprenticeship at the tender age of 4.
Once her Bachelors’ degree in hand, she’ll be off touring the world soaking up culinary culture and diversity. With the objective of opening her own restaurant one day, one thing is certain; extra special artistic attention will be given to the presentation of her dishes.
